A Serious Gamboling Addiction

I was in the garage yesterday morning and happened to see the following: A doe (a deer, a female deer) and her tiny frolicsome fawn, frolicking. Gamboling, really. Well the doe was pretty much just munchin’ on some juicy greenery, but Bambi looked like he was hyped up on crack. The little guy was charging back and forth across our lawn, doing skid-turns on the gravel driveway. This went on until mom’s radar-dish ears detected me trying to creep in for a closer look. After deciding I might be a threat, the two of them bounded off along a little swath of mowed lawn over our drainfield.

Everywhere we look this week, a baby animal of some kind goes shootin’ by. Yesterday’s Bambi extravaganza was capped off with an itty bitty bunny rabbit and a family of ringneck pheasants. I can hear dad pheasant clucking somewhere in the distance as I write this.

Spring most certainly sprang this year.
