Anti-Trust Law's Catch-22

Microsoft has long been beaten up in the media, by consumer groups, and by end users for being the target of countless software viruses, worms, and other exploits. "Do something to protect users," screams this highly visible choir.

Well, now that Microsoft is responding by releasing some anti-virus software, the same group of people is whining about the anti-trust implications.

Reminds me of an old Steven Wright bit:

"I decided to name my dog 'Stay' "

"Come here, 'Stay!' Come here, 'Stay!'"

"Drives him crazy."
